Crystal Anxiety Soother for Kids

As a parent, you want your child to follow their heart, feel confident, and grow up strong. You want to give your little one(s) the tools they need to navigate anxiety, stress, and anger -- all natural human emotions that kids (and adults!) can slip into if they don’t have the right support practices in place.

Crystals can help your kid(s) access their superpowers that are always present within them, but that sometimes need a little coaxing to come out.

If your child is having a hard time handling emotions, there’s a powerful bedtime crystal ritual you can do to help them calm their nervous system, sleep better, and manage challenges with more ease.

This ritual is a great way for you and your child to destress from the day and get ready for some R&R. With this practice, use an aquamarine or amethyst crystal to help soothe anxiety in your child, so they feel happier and more present.

Here’s the nighttime ritual to help you and your child feel more relaxed, confident, and connected

1. Take time to cleanse your crystal, washing away any old energy. Do this using The Purple Flame Meditation (only an imaginary flame!) and the Moon Cleansing.

  • Purple Flame Meditation

    • Hold the crystal in your hand with your eyes closed and take a deep breath

    • Imagine a purple flame coming out of your palms and going around and through the crystal, cleansing it

    • Imagine the flame turning into water and washing away the old energy

  • Moon Cleansing

    • Simply place your crystals on a windowsill under the moonlight overnight to cleanse them.

2. Next, have your child sit in a comfortable position with eyes closed or open, crystal in palm. You can also have them lay down with the crystal placed over their heart, if that feels better.

3. Set an intention to feel calm, and for your child to feel calm. Ask them to do the same.

4. If either of you are having a hard time relaxing, go on a little internal treasure hunt and think of a time you both felt happy and relaxed -- like when you were on vacation, or playing outside with friends.

5. Once you tap into that calm feeling, imagine that the feeling is a brightly glowing energy in your heart and notice it shining outward and all around you. Let go of everything else. Simply focus on that feeling, and your breath.

6. Let yourself “float” in that glowing energy and place of calm for 1 minute.

7. Remember to softly breathe in and out.

8. To come back, notice your breath, whatever surface you’re sitting or laying on, and any sounds in the room. Gently wiggle your fingers and toes. Then slowly open your eyes.

You and/or your child can also sleep with a gemstone under your pillow, or next to your bed.

If you find that either of you are slipping back to anxiety or fear throughout the day, you can keep your crystal in your pocket or bag, as a reminder that you can always access internal peace.
