3 Easy Crystal Rituals To Supercharge Your Self-Care

You already know how important it is to set aside time for self-care, but if your routine starts to feel a little stagnant and you want it to feel special again, try these quick and easy rituals.

I use crystals to supercharge my self-care routine because their healing energies magnify the benefits. Today I want to share a few simple yet deeply nourishing rituals you can do with crystals.

I hope they leave you feeling nourished and blissful. ♥

Quick morning energizer.
~ 1-3 minutes

Starting your morning with a little bit of crystal-powered breathwork is one of the best ways to guarantee great energy and a positive mood all day. Yellow jasper and citrine are the stones to use here - they’re energizing and uplifting.

Sitting with your legs crossed on a meditation cushion or simply on your bed, hold your crystal and place your hands face up on your knees. Use smooth, round stones that feel good to hold.

Inhale and flex your spine forward, chest up, back arched. Exhale as you curve your spine backward, creating an exaggerated “hunch.” Keep your head level and do easy, slow flexions. Get a little bit faster as you warm up, continuing to inhale forward and exhale back.

Go for 1-3 minutes - use a timer or your phone. This exercise will give you a boost of energy and inspiration to start your day. It’s great for clearing energy around your first chakra, which has to do with security and confidence. The morning energizer will flush out any self-doubt and leave you feeling excited to start your day.

End-of-day destressor.
~ 1 minute

Whistle breath is a simple but powerful technique to melt away tension, fear, and stress at the end of the day. Sit in a comfortable position with your eyes closed. Pucker your lips and make slow, deep, rhythmic whistles in and out. If you can’t actually whistle, no worries! Simply pucker your lips as if you are whistling, and breathe in and out through your mouth slowly and deeply.

This position of the lips stimulates the vagus nerve, your longest cranial nerve and the “boss” of your parasympathetic aka rest-and-digest nervous system. By stimulating the vagus nerve you can deeply relax your whole body.

As you do whistle breath for one minute, hold an angelite or amethyst crystal in your hand - they impart a gentle, calming energy that’s perfect for unwinding at the end of the day.

Soothing gemstone massage.
~ 5 minutes

You can use smooth gemstones for this self-massage ritual. I recommend rose quartz, which is very soothing and helps with self-love and forgiveness. This is great to do before bed to help your nervous system unwind.

You’ll need some warm almond or coconut oil in a squeeze bottle with a few drops of an essential oil of your choice - I love DoTerra Frankincense or Balance blend for their grounding effect.

You can use a flat and/or thick stone - thicker crystals retain heat longer, but both are great. Just make sure you’re not using a delicate or fraying crystal - these types shouldn’t be exposed to water or oil, and they could scratch you. (You can ask the person you buy it from or google whether it can be placed in water or oil).

First, warm up your bottle of oil and stone by letting them sit in a glass or bowl of very warm (not boiling) water from the faucet for 5 minutes, until they’re nice and toasty but comfortable to the touch. Coat your crystal in the oil and start massaging yourself with it, beginning with your lower legs and working your way over your torso, arms, and chest.

Pay attention to any tender areas that might need a little extra love. Start gentle and use firmer pressure as you warm up the skin and get into a rhythm. Just like with any type of massage, everyone likes different pressure, so experiment with strokes and strengths to see what feels most soothing for you.

You can also do this gemstone self-massage in the shower - so luxurious and relaxing. As you perform this ritual, think of the healing, glowing energy of the crystal you’re using, and how it is being transferred to you and supporting you in the exact way you need.
